don't forget

With all the news coverage on this stimulus/spending/whatever it's called bill, I feel the need to inject a little bit of hope into things. Despite economic lows, loss in our lives, and just general uncertainty, God's not done - the world is still within His sight, within His reach. Chris Tomlin encourages us with his song, "God of This City."

The chorus goes:
Greater things have yet to come
Great things are still to be done
In this city
Greater things are still to come
And greater things are still to be done here

Let's not forget Who is in control and Who He is!

Verse 2:
You're the Lord of Creation
The Creator of all things
You're the King above all Kings
You Are

You're the strength in our weakness
You're the love to the broken
You're the joy in the sadness
You Are

I think it's so easy to get lost in the bad news. So many of people I know personally have lost jobs (including losing mine as well). They are struggling with making ends meet. It's easy to lose perspective. I pray that Chris' words and the words of the psalmist below will give you hope today. Let's never forget:

"The Mighty One, God, the LORD,
speaks and summons the earth
from the rising of the sun to the place where it sets."
Psalm 50:1
