repetition

How can preschoolers watch the same movie or tv cartoon episode over and over again? My daughter will sit through something that she's seen a bazillion times and watch it w/ just as much interest as the first time. Do we lose patience as we get older? Or, as adults are we taking in so much during the day that we automatically filter out those things that "we know already" and don't waste time on it? Or am I the only one out there that doesn't like watching repeats? :-)
