edit this
Here's a before-and-after shot from my little shutter speed experiment. This one was taken at f/5.6 at 1/2000 of a second (ISO 3200). Technically with my camera's capability's, I should've upped my ISO to 6400, however I like this one.
When it came to editing in Lightroom, I started with Pretty Preset's Evening Light (one of my favorites), which basically lightened the highlights and darks and darkened the shadows. It upped the vibrancy as well as upping the exposure and brightness overall. It also massively vignettes it, which made the background obsolete - perfect!

Fun photo and I love your edit!
Very cool shot! I cannot seem to get any of my running water shots to some out how I like. This one ROCKS.

That is a really neat shot - I love how you captured all the bubbles!
Cool- I have been meaning to try this for months now. I suppose I will have to do it sooner or later. This is inspiring!
I absolutely love your photo...it's contrast is amazing and the texture with the water is awesome... I also really love the verse you have at the top of your page...sometimes it feels like having a relationship with Christ is like trying to stay above quicksand...especially in the military.
I love the high contrast of the edited photograph. It makes it perfect!
nice job and fun subject. Kaye—the road goes ever ever on
